
Bill Williams
Bill is Chief Executive of Alloy Fabweld Group of companies (AFG). AFG are UK leaders in architectural metalwork and modular systems for the construction sectors, based in Essex with a number of manufacturing sites and locations in London and the Southeast. (www.alloyfabweld.com/aboutus)
He is Chair of the Board of the UK Design and Technology Association (www.data.org.uk), an Editorial Advisor to the Manufacturer Publication and is a judge on the UK Top 100 Manufacturing awards.
Bill has invested his entire career in the UK engineering and manufacturing sectors with organisations including Group Lotus plc, a global sportscar and automotive engineering conglomerate where he was Head of Strategy and member of the Board.
Prior to AFG he was the Chief Executive of the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence in London (CEME Ltd) a leading UK industrial institution devoted to the UK Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology sectors. During this time, he worked closely with UK Government, establishing the High Speed Manufacturing Institute and Elutec, a University Technical College.
Bills career commenced with Michelin Tyre Company, completing an engineering apprenticeship before moving into sales and marketing. He has worked in the UK, USA and Singapore across sectors including automotive, motorsport and precision engineering.
Bill has an MBA from Cranfield University, is an Honorary Fellow of University College London (UCL), Fellow of the Institute of Engineering (FIET), Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and has completed the Confederation of British Industry’s (CBI) prestigious Leadership Programme.
